Other name- Supra-aural

On Ear headphones sit on top on the ears, instead of over the ears.  They are lighter and less bulky than Over the Ear headphones, but also tend to block out less outside noise.  They generally have some type of foam pad that covers the speakers.  These are known as the classic type of headphone.
